Registration Open For 2011 PAA Tournament Series

BENTON, Ky. (Feb. 24, 2011) - Positions are available for PAA Tour member participation in the three events of this season's 2011 Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix.

There’s no better time to test your skills against some of the top anglers in the nation on the most affordable professional tour anywhere. Last year two PAA Tournament Series champions - Shane Long of Missouri and Keith Combs of Texas - claimed wins during a challenging season and helped solidify their jump into the FLW Tour and Bassmaster Elite Series. Long put on a show at Table Rock Lake with a jigging spoon re-introduced to the market by Luck "E" Strike. Combs slammed a Tournament Series three-day weight record at Lake Tawakoni and also introduced a new lure produced by Power Tackle.

Joining the PAA as a Tour-level PAA member ensures your opportunity to register and compete in Tournament Series events. This year's sites include three great venues: Lake Lanier in Georgia, Table Rock Lake in Missouri and Neely Henry Lake in Alabama.

PAA pros compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes, including a Nitro Z-8 boat outfitted with a Mercury 225hp Optimax and T-H Marine Supplies Atlas Jackplate. Points can be earned in each event toward the 2011 PAA Angler of the Year along with qualifying for the 2011 Toyota Texas Bass Classic and the 2012 PAA All Star Series. Tournament Series coverage through FishPAA Television will appear on NBC Sports this autumn.

Tour-level membership fee is $400 per year, and Tournament Series entry fees are $2,500 per tournament. Registration is available for all three tournaments. The Balance Due Deadline for payment and registration information submission for Lake Lanier is no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 28, to avoid inclusion of the $175 late fee. After that and through the first day of official practice the late fee will be incurred.

Register and pay for the 2011 PAA Tournament Series by contacting Lisa Bell or Marsha Koeppen at the PAA office by calling (270) 527-2030 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
